There were two of us, standing with a sign saying "OSTRAVA." It was a great spot, even though it was Sunday. We were picked up by a couple from the Czech Republic who were going to Zator (POLAND).

Good spot to travel to Ostrava or even further. We have stopped a couple going to Warsaw in less than 20 minutes.

One male 40+, with a sigh "BRATISLAVA", one big backpack, a sunny day. On my way from Brno to Budapest (successful). It looks like a good place. The entrance to the pertol station, with loads of space (enough for 2-3 lorries). After the traffic lights, so people drive slowly, and can see you easily. There are also downsides. It's before the big junction, and cars go everywhere, to Prage, Viena, Bratislava, Ostrava (and Poland) and also locally. So, I'd say that a sign is necessary here. The traffic is constant, so you'll not have time to rest your arm. In the morning no shade. After 25 minutes a woman stopped, but she was going only locally (she didn't see my sigh). After one hour I started loosing my hope a bit. I gave myself 0,5 h more before moving to another spot. 5 minuts before the deadline a man stopped and took me to Bratislava. He said that he saw my sign, so I recommend having one here. The driver was kind enough to drop me at a petrol station south of Bratislava, where quickly I got a ride to Budapest.

Not a lot of traffic but normal amount. Tho half of it goes to Ostrava. But eventually got a truck which was going to Katowice so asked to drop off at the gas station in Poland.

There was so many cars at the Mcdonalds and other restaurants that I got overwhelmed and just asked trucks so got one which was going to ostrava to rest for the rest of the day. But there is a lot of traffic here but I dont know how far the cars go but almost all were czech. Easy to get here from the city with a bus which cost 1.5 euro. You cannot pass without ticket because you have to pay to driver.

I got here by bus 678 and by walking, its a good spot to get out of Ostrava, although not many cars pass through here. One car got me to Vražné, another gas station, which was similar to this.

Lots of cars coming through, all exiting through one lane, thumbing near the exit got me a few drivers asking where i was going, and i got a direct ride to Ostrava in 20 mins.

When I read these reviews i thought it s gonna be so easy. NEVER come from the north to this spot, it’s way to dangerous to cross the bridge. I had a sign “Ostrava” and “PL” for 1h50min and nobody stopped. I made a sign saying “8km^” and then it worked. Maybe it was that bad, because it was sunday.

One of the best places to hitchhike near Katowice. We planned to go in the direction of Ostrava in the further Budapest and we managed to catch the driver to Vienna. Overall, a great place to catch a foot in the direction of Wroclaw, Berlin, Vienna. It is worth going to the parking lot and asking people where they are going - a lot of individual drivers and trucks.

I don't know why, but for a very long time people didn't want to stop - we headed towards Rybnik -> Ostrava

I've been here twice. Didn't have to wait long for a ride torwards Ostrava and further. Enough space for a car to stop quite comfortably

We wanted to go on Ostrava direction - highly not recommend for that! The only cars that stopped went other way and we gave up after more than two hours

After 5 minuts I found transport to Ostrava (centrum)

I want to drive to Ostrava, I come to this gas station at 8am and first person who I asked, drive me to Havirov

Since the bridges are in repair probably the best to Ostrava/Olomouc

Great spot for hitchhiking towards Ostrava, there is a bus stop as well as a petrol station. Consider moving along so that there is enough space for the cars to pull over - there is a red light directly next to the bus stop. Can be good because the drivers see you, but when it's green light the cars pass by quite quickly.

All cars going to Ostrava indeed, we went a bit further to get people from the city also. Not recommended in rush hour.
